Poetry Wednesdays
Turn the television on. Jot down the first five full sentences you hear (don’t worry it doesn’t have to be perfect) from five channels. Don’t be picky use the first full lines you hear. Review the sentences and pick three consecutive words from each line. Rearrange them in to a poem adding words as necessary to fill in the structure or you can try not adding words too. Reuse the same five lines choosing three separate consecutive words from each line to create another poem.
ie.
- “Karl it is not a competition with your brother“
- “I think there is shooting in the library right now”
- “The cougars slow in their own zone.”
- “It’s a special place for handicap families to enjoy the outdoors.”
- “JJ’s keeping an eye on the press for now.”
With your brother it was never easy
I think there was malice in both your hearts
All men should have their own zone
Finding a special place shouldn’t be hard
shouldn’t be easy
Your family will press for now until there is a imprint
in both of you.
