Mixed Patterns

I can’t mix patterns. I just can’t do it. If someone picks them out for me or I see them on other people then I love them. But I just can’t pick them out for myself. I stand there blank faced trying to do it. Seriously, it’s painful.
Here is a YouTube Fashionista I came across today and I absolutely love what she has done with the men’s top and vest and the retro necklace and shades. While I love her shoes I don’t like them with this outfit. Have a look (she’s a cutie):

So tell me. How are you with mixing patterns? Are you a pattern mixing queen or is it painful for you to coordinate patterns?
