A Week of Prompts
St. Patrick’s Day Prompts
March 17th is the day St. Patrick died, supposedly he was 120. At 16 he was sold into slavery and after six years he fled Ireland. He returned many years later as a missionary and worked to bring together two religions Christian and Celtic, blending them into Celtic Christianity. This day is highly celebrated in Ireland as a significant religious day while in other parts of the world it is a good excuse for drinking green beer.
Here are a seven prompts to help you reflect.
Day One: Write about a time you experienced good luck.
Day Two: How do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? (If you don’t, write about that too.)
Day Three: What are you going to wear this St. Patrick’s Day?
Day Four: Do you know any one named Patrick?
Day Five: Describe your impression of what slavery would have been like.
Day Six: Use the following words in your next writing entry: green, shamrock, black shoes, luck, cow, sunshine, raisin, railroad, telephone.
Day Seven: Write about your own faith.
Bonus: Write a Limerick.
Even though expressed as a question that may provide a one sentence answer, elaborate on your answers. Meditate, reflect and enjoy. You can find more writing prompts at The Write Prompts blog.
