The New Face of Denim

Denim is probably the most worn fabric in North America. But these days it is not all about your denim blues especially this spring and summer. The hottest trends for denim are going to be:
Bright and Pastel (blues, reds, yellow, pink, lilac) — This is a trend I can totally get behind. I love the reds and blues and the pastels are so pretty. They tried to bring back colored denim a couple years ago but it did not take off in the plus sizes. Hopefully this year it will stick. Check out colored denim at ASOS Curve, Macy’s, Nordstrom, and Zappos.

Floral and Other Print Denim — Unlike the solid colors I can not say I am totally for print denims at least if it is floral. So far these are the only floral I have seen in plus size while the straight sizes seem to have some really cute floral patterns to choose from. This one from ASOS Curve is not a fave. I do however like the subtle animal prints shown here from Avenue and Bloomingdale’s.

Relaxed is Back But Skinny is Not Going Anywhere — I am getting the impression that skinny jeans are here to stay. But I have been reading that relaxed is on its way back so if you have yours buried in your closet dig them out. Of all the skinny jeans I have seen I like these ones from Torrid which are skinny without being obscene if you know what I mean.
