Continue On Saturdays Writing Prompt
The gist of it is simple. I give you the start of a line/story and you continue on. This week:
When Riley Johnson picked up the phone on the third ring the last thing she expected to hear was the voice of her husband Tom. According to all legal records Tom had died in a fire at Bob Roberts Mechanic Shop three years ago. As she listened to his voice she reached down to pinch her thigh just to make sure she was actually awake.
“Riles? You listening? I need you to do this for me.” After a pause he asked, “Can you do this for me?”
Riley sucked in some air through her mouth and said, “Yes, but…” The phone went dead before she could ask him anything. She hung up the phone next to the bed and…
