Rosie the Riveter

Who’s Rosie? Rosie is a feminist and cultural icon that was used to depict the women who worked in the factories during the Second World War. plus size rosie the riveter costume
Rosie the Riveter is an easy to do-it-yourself costume that is perfect for the plus size woman.ย  You could easily make this costume with items from your closet:
For the bottoms you can use black capri pants like the ones shown or you could use mens jeans with the pant legs rolled into cuffs. Even overalls would work.
Any light or dark blue cotton or denim work shirt would work with the sleeves rolled up passed the elbows.
If you don’t have a red headband you could easily pick up a bandanna from the dollar store or cut up an old red t-shirt. You can finish it off with a bunch of buttons/patches and a black lunch box (also from the dollar store–paint it black and write Rosie on the side). Don’t forget the retro eye makeup. You can finish it off with Mary Janes or a pair of work boots (for jeans/overalls).
Here’s a great video with a simple hairdo to do under the bandanna:

You can do it!
