70s Inspired Pleats

One of the hottest trends this season is mini pleats. It’s part of that whole retro kick that we seem to be heading into whether we want to or not. I actually like this trend, from a non-hog-wild perspective anyway. One of two pieces are more than enough to satisfy the desire.
When I started looking for pieces to feature I fell in love with many of the latest styles but then quickly realized there are very few offerings for plus size women’s clothing. Very few or hard to find. I’m beginning to think that the 70s Inspired Pleats fall into the “one of the things fat people shouldn’t wear rules” category. At least to some one. Why else wouldn’t there be an influx of flirty pleats for plus size chicks? Or are our offerings simply behind everyone else?
Of the stuff I did find there were not many favorites. I do however like this Lovedrobe Pleated Dress from Evans. I love the pale pink, 3/4 sleeves with mini ruffle, blended pleats and of course the removable sash that makes it even more flattering for the plus size body. It’s a cute dress that would look great with leggings (or bare legs and white go-g0 boots) but seriously, I think it is too short for a dress (I’m from the “if you can’t bend properly then it’s too short train of thought) and would make a better tunic; perhaps with a pair of retro looking wide leg dress pants. It is available in sizes 14 to 28 for £38.

A few weeks ago I mentioned the influx of cold-shoulder tops; especially the dressy ones from Kiyonna. Well the influx has not stopped.
