Bookmarker Flag Pen Bookmark Review

While I’m reading I am always using pens and post-it notes. If I have to take my book somewhere I always end up losing the post-its and pen in my purse (or end up forgetting to take them with me in the first place). When Everyday Innovations asked me to review their Bookmarker Flag Pen, I happily agreed.

Mini Sticky Sheets

For the last week I’ve been testing it out and I have to say it is handy. It fits well in my hand and has a nice ink flow. The mini sheets are good for flagging and for making a short comment but I would like to see a larger note in the refill option instead of the duo colored one so it is easier to write a full thought. The pen is thin enough to mark a page without doing damage to the binding and the little red tab slides down to keep the ink of the pen from marking the page.

Flat Duo Function

Bookmarker Flag Pen

As you can see from the image, a flat piece of plastic encases the ink cartridge. The pen is designed flat to be placed in a book to keep your place, the elastic can cover over one side of the book to keep it from getting dislodged or around the whole book to keep it closed (great for traveling).

The best part, in my case, is the sticky notes on the side that I can use to make notes or mark pages while I’m reading review books. But I imagine this would be helpful for anyone in a book club, studying, or just wanting to remember a good quote.

The flags are essentially transparent sticky notes that are shiny and writable. A Bookmarker package comes with two bonus flag refills. Personally, I would have liked one larger tag instead of two smaller ones. If I was just marking a page, the mini tag is sufficient but if I want to write a thought, even in short form, it was not big enough. I also would have liked more than 25 sheets although I imagine the makers are trying to keep the sleekness down.

Comfort and Added Features

As for comfort, the pen fits in the hand surprisingly well. I was able to write for a full page comfortably enough and it’s obviously excellent for small notes.

The elastic strap is only good for standard book sizes and seemed too small for the larger soft trade paperbacks. I didn’t have any hardcovers handy to test it on.

My biggest complaint was going to be that the ink cartridge is not changeable. BUT it is!

Overall, I really like the Bookmarker Flag Pen Bookmark as a general book tool. I think it would be a neat gift for writers and students. It is definitely affordable at $5.99. Refill flags and ink are sold together for $3.99.

  1. This is how I do it too – I keep a pen tucked in my bedside draw – but I am going to read your review – that might work better.
