Shoe Trends for Spring

I’m with the fraction of society that believes there is no such thing as too many shoes. My husband believes a person only needs two to three pairs of shoes for the majority of their adult life. This works out great because it means I have more space for shoes!
Here are some of my favorite shoe trends for spring: wedges, spring colors (blue, purple, metallic), flowers and bows, jewels, woven, and cut-outs.
Wedges never seem to go out of style and they never look the same from one season to the next. I enjoy both medium and high wedges; especially these strappy Sofft Lorenza ($103.95) and these crossover electric blue Rockport Monica II Crossband ($99.95).

The best spring colors for shoes are blues (like above), purples, and metallics. All three of which I love. There are various shades of purple but I especially love the deep shades like these comfortable looking Converse Chuck Taylor ($45) and the Matisse Holly ($61.95).

Metallics normally scream party in my ear but these titanium Marc Jacobs ($246) would bring some life to a boring suit. These metallic gold Kenneth Cole Reaction Kiss Or Dare ($79) combine two other trends; wedge and woven for a unique looking show to go with a maxi dress.

Flowers and bows add a feminine touch to shoes. I have to admit I was slow to warm up to this trend when it first started but I would not turn my nose up to these rose budded Nina Critia ($99.95) or ribboned D&G Dolce & Gabbana ($574).

Jeweled ornamentation has a princess like quality to it. It’s like having an accessory your shoes. The jewels work when they are both small or large or a combination of both. Like the BCB Generation Drama ($98.96) or the RSVP Pretty ($66.53). I especially love the large jewel on the RSVP — I would be staring at my feet a lot in these!

Woven details add visual texture that is appealing to look at but I find sometimes uncomfortable especially after you take them off and have the pattern etched in your feet. If it is on the heel all the better, like these Naya Mcloud ($129). Or these ones by Matt Bernson Woven Ankle Braid ($180) which have a the woven section lined.

Cutouts are extremely sexy and the styles are endless from flat the high heels. I love these edgy Maxstudio Frances ($125.84) in the natural shade for fun and the Indigo by Clarks Sylvie ($81) to match with business attire.
