The 6 Piece Wardrobe

The latest craze is the rebirth of the six piece wardrobe. A few months ago I watched the ladies of the View play with six pieces and was inspired to create a plus size version. The basic idea is to use six pieces of clothing to make seven outfits for the week. This type of dressing makes full use of your wardrobe and makes you more of a thinking shopper than a splurging shopper. And it is kind of a fun challenge to do with the clothing already in your closet.

The Required Pieces

  1. striped shirt
  2. sparkly tank dress
  3. military dress
  4. ruffle blouse buttoned front
  5. black flirty skirt
  6. black denim jeans

plus size clothing

And of course a bunch of accessories, hopefully items you already have in your closet.

Mixing and Matching Seven Outfits

  • Ruffle blouse, black jeans with pant legs rolled into cuffs, suede pumps, big shades.
  • Striped shirt with military tank dress over top, black jeans, sneakers, sunglasses.
  • Striped shirt, flirty black skirt, fedora, sparkle bracelets, flats.
  • Ruffle blouse, flirty skirt, black tights, black booties.
  • Trench military dress buttoned, belt, booties.
  • Sparkle tank dress, tucked into black jeans, striped shirt rolled for scarf, heels.
  • Sparkle tank dress, heels, belt.

  1. The striped shirt is from Addition-Elle.
  2. The sparkly tank dress is from Yours Clothing (but ASOS has a nice one too)
  3. The military dress is from Lane Bryant.

It’s a crinkle satin material with bold irregular patterns on a black backdrop. It comes in sizes 14/16…

  • Cute Print Tops

Making It Big (MIB) continues to make strides in their style options this last year. This summer they are offering some cute print tops in an array of pretty patterns. If you are not familiar with MIB they offer plus sizes from 2x to 8x. They are a bit pricy ($49 to $99 for featured…

  • Cute Dresses

ASOS’s Curve division has such cute dresses right now. And they have free delivery every where (although the exchange isn’t the greatest at the moment). How cool is that. It was really hard not to go crazy with favorites but I managed five favorite cute dresses (ok six, I couldn’t ditch one more): *** Topic…

  • Hot Pink

I first noticed the Longline Shirt Tunic from City Chic Online back in July. I still think it is hot and since the sheer trend is continuing into fall I see no reason why it would not transition over a long sleeve top/dress. I am actually really shocked they are only sold out of size 22…
