Kate Middleton's Engagement Ring
I was mildly excited when Kate and Prince William announced they were engaged. Ok, I was thinking “about time!” I have mixed feelings about Kate Middleton’s engagement ring being Princess Diana’s engagement ring. Don’t get me wrong, it’s beautiful, it’s blue and I love it; but it just seems weird since her marriage to Prince Charles didn’t last.
You would think with the vast selection that Prince William had to choose from (even from Diana’s personal collection) that he would have picked something else. It just seems like a nasty shadow to hang over them.

Engagement rings aside, it would make a beautiful cocktail ring for the holiday season. It also kind of gives me Titanic necklace vibes, no? If you love the style you can pick up an affordable version from Emitations which is on sale for $45 (regular $55) and is available in ring sizes 4 to 12. The sapphire cz ring has quickly become one of their best sellers.
What do you think of Kate Middleton’s engagement ring? Do you have any “bad luck” vibes from the fact it used to be Diana’s? Are you familiar with the Royal collection? Should the dashing Prince William have chosen more wisely?
Update (December 2024): You can still find beautiful cocktail rings in this style through Amazon.
