Pet Memorial
The relationship between people and their pets is strong. When a beloved pet dies the loss is real and has to be worked through like any other death. If you have lost a pet make a pet memorial in his/her honor — if the death is recent it will be good therapy. Please don’t make one if you haven’t lost a pet, it will be obvious, and put you into a bad light with visitors.
Things to include in your pet memorial:
- In the intro, introduce your pet by name and how they became your pet, briefly describe your loss, then close with, this is a memorial for my beloved “Tigger”.
- Include two photo galleries. One for when the pet was younger and one for when it was older. For each image use the description to explain each photo.
- Have a poll: have you lost a pet recently?
- Use a text list of the top 10 reasons why you’ll miss “Tigger”.
- With a black box encourage others to make a pet memorial for their pet (include your referral link).
- Include a Guestbook for people to write their condolences.
You don’t want to make this lens too commercial otherwise your memorial will come across as insincere. Instead of using monetary modules within the lens take advantage of the three modules in the sidebar — favorite toy, favorite treat, pet magazine.
