Flaming Red Handbag

Two years ago I wanted a red leather wallet. I could not find one to save my life — it was not even that I was picky, they just could not be found. My mother-in-law ended up buying me a lovely black leather one so I put the desire for a red wallet aside. J Crew Edie Handbag
This year, I decided I wanted a red handbag. Nothing too big and nothing too small. A few compartments a handle and a detachable over the body strap. Something just right by my standards. I decided to actually go out and haunt the local bag shops. Guess what I found. Go ahead guess. Tons of red wallets! And no red bags. There were a crazy amount of black or white or weaved bags but no red ones. Not even deep red or wine.
This weekend Aimee Cheshire from Madison Plus posted to Facebook that her new purse from J Crew arrived (lucky duck) and she linked to a photo of herself showing it off. It is super cute and I love it. I was really tempted to pick one up but honestly I want to fall in love with a bag under $100, if I’m really honest, under $80; so I will keep looking. But it is a really cute bag — look at it.
In the image at right the bag looks more orangey or washed out but if you click on the link to Aimee’s bag it definitely looks red. The J Crew handbag or as they call it, the Edie purse also comes in black or pecan, but flame is tops, for $238.

When I want comfort clothing I go to Cotton Ginny. Unfortunately, my local walk in store just closed.
