Continue On Saturdays Writing Prompt

The gist of it is simple. I give you the start of a line/story and you continue on. This week:

I have been taking the path between Hinkley Square and Margin Road for the last six months. At 5:30 a.m. it is mostly quiet except for the occasional little dog walker and fellow runner. I guess I am more of a jaunter than a runner; somewhere between runner and jogger. There is always a gentle breeze among the tall pine and the birds skydive back and forth across the path always high enough never to interfere with a passing head. Often I find my mind wandering over the pages in mind, sometimes I am so engrossed I am at the end of the trail and wondering how I arrived there so fast and not remembering seeing the cement angel monument that resides halfway marking the rougher trailer to the back of St. Michael’s parish. This morning my wandering was disrupted by the wide bright red paint strokes marring the angelic beauty. As I stood there staring I couldn’t help but think how sad she looked and I wondered if…
