Continue On Saturdays Writing Prompt
The gist of it is simple. I give you the start of a line/story and you continue on. This week:
Charlotte Greene let out a yelp in anticipation of the hot tea cup she dropped in her lap. When the steamy liquid actually made contact with her skin she took a sharp intake of breath and cursed. Of course she could not make it to the public bathroom without running into someone, Melissa Avagard was all prim in proper in her white sheath dress and matching black purse and pumps. Her voice droned on as Charlotte’s eyes peeked around Melissa’s perfectly straightened blonde tresses to the bathroom door which seemed to be getting further and further away instead of closer. She tuned back into the conversation when she heard, “…she died.”
“What? Who died?” Charlotte asked. Melissa looked at her blankly for a second and started the story over from the beginning. Apparently…
