Hot Pink

I first noticed the Longline Shirt Tunic from City Chic Online back in July. I still think it is hot and since the sheer trend is continuing into fall I see no reason why it would not transition over a long sleeve top/dress. I am actually really shocked they are only sold out of size 22 (Sizes 14 to 24) — is it the “duster” length that is scaring people? Or the sheerness? I am also shocked it is not on sale yet and is still selling for $69.

Black seems like the most logical choice but what would you wear with it?

    Loving Grey

The last few weeks I have had a strong inclination for grey. I want to paint my living room deep grey (not going to happen), I want to paint my nails grey or steel (more likely to happen), and I want to add a bunch of grey clothes to my wardrobe (could happen). Specifically these…

  • Chiffon Mini Dress

“Pretty in Pink” is what I thought of when I saw this cute Chiffon Mini Dress from “down under” in City Chic’s online shop. The lovely blush is set off by the black accents and would look pretty with classic pumps or trendy with some military boots. This pretty number is $68. City Chic Online…

  1. To me, this falls under the rule “If you wore the trend the first time around, you’re too old to wear it now.” We wore duster- and floor-length cardigans as college students in 2000–if you give Felicity a rewatch, you can see a few. This trend, along with handkerchief shirts and pleather pants, didn’t look good then, and to my eye, doesn’t look good now.

    1. RB –> I will have to revisit Felcity because I do not remember them. I remember my aunt wearing them when I was a child and I remember them coming back again for my husband’s godmother to wear them although they looked nothing like this hot pink number. LOL. It seems like everything comes back in some form eventually so that rule really limits us — but I am definitely against handkerchief shirts and pleather pants (unless you are making a pirate costume). Cheers!
