Talking Separates

Alexandra Boos, a plus size model and spokesperson for Ulla Popken gives the highlights on why their separates are perfect for many lifestyles and to remind us that “feeling beautiful is empowering”.

Five of my favorite plus size tops from Ulla Popken at the moment are:

From left to right:

  • Relaxed Knit Blazer in cerulean blue (more colors), $69
  • Blue Lagoon Burnout Duster and Tank Set, $110
  • Embellished Giraffe Print Knit Tunic in coral (more colors), $59
  • Scrolled Florals Duster Set, $79
  • Lace Border Gauze Tunic in pacific (more colors), $59

When I first saw the coral Giraffe Print top I did not really care for it on the model, then I saw it on Babe Hope and fell in love with it. It comes in two other colors. A perfect example of why having an actual curvy model is a good idea.

I love being able to see the same top on different sized women. It helps to make a accurate shopping decision.

It was love at first site when I saw this t-shirt from Threadless T-shirts (which remind me an awful lot like Woot T-shirts). It makes me laugh every time I look at it. It is almost as good as the chubby unicorn I bought a few months ago from Woot. The unfortunate thing is that…

  • Cute Tops Under $30

It seems like plus size clothing keeps getting more expensive with the more option we have instead of the opposite but good deals for under $30 can still be found. Here are a few places to bookmark. Lane Bryant For the most part their really cute tops are priced higher than $40 but if you…

  • Ghosts of Summer

A new love tee from Threadless this week. Ghost was designed by “droopy, DRP”. Looking at this artist’s other designs it’s obvious he/she has a penchant for skulls. For me this one is a representation of our endless struggle for beauty — it’s eating us alive. In more ways than one. I think the woman…

  • $12 Tees

I have not talked about Threadless in awhile. A few weeks at least. Their current $12 tees sale (until December 26th) seems like a good time to share some of my latest favorites with you. As you can see they seem to be animal related but there are tees for the sci-fy buffs, the strange,…

  • Cute Tops Good Price

Spring may not be in the air but it is in my heart. And it’s in Old Navy’s online plus size clothing shop. Good things come in threes, and what do you know, I found three cute tops for spring at incredibly reasonable prices. First up is the Twist-Front Jersey Tops in Atomic Purple. It…

  • Plus Size Plaid Shirts

It’s been a formal week so far. Now for something a little casual. I was reading that plaid shirts are a style trend for the new year and I’ve definitely been seeing them every where I turn. They are a great layering piece over camis and if you get a extra long one they can…

  1. Agreed! I love seeing clothes on different sizes. Even plus size models are taller and thinner than I, so it’s great to see stuff on real women. And I too love Ulla Popken!
