Improving Your Body Image

Every time we look in the mirror and make negative comments (internally or outright) about our body we are affecting our body image. Most of how we perceive ourselves comes from the visual cues we are bombarded with throughout our lives. If you ever wanted to change some aspect of your appearance, or even if you have not, I am sure you can appreciate the Beautiful Women Project by Cheryl-Ann Webster and how she is improving women’s body image, one body cast at a time.

If you have not heard of this phenomenal woman and her body casts then here is a brief introduction:

I have seen this exhibit live two times and both times it has had a phenomenal impact on my psyche. I have even helped to support the cause by purchasing the picture book (and so I could have a permanent visual reference of the experience). One of the best ways of improving your body image is exposing yourself to other real body types in all their configurations.

I love this exhibit and the message it gives girls and women of all ages and sizes). I also believe women (and men) of all sizes should support these kind of get real initiatives for themselves and the other women in their lives of all ages.
