Natural Inspiration
Sometimes, we have to force ourselves to write, even when we do not want to or worse, when we do not know what to write. (see a previous post on prompts by Moe to get you going there). It is called discipline and habit. At times, even that can seem a little threadbare. At these low points, we may need a little natural inspiration to recharge our batteries. Everyone has something that inspires them.
For me, it is the beach. Always was, always will be.

Any kind of nature is inspiring whether it be the beach, the mountains, the park, or your back garden. Just sit and get lost in the moment amid the beauty that surrounds you. But you do not have to leave your house to become inspired. In fact you do not even have to leave your chair to get a dose of inspiration.
Sit back and close your eyes and recall a favorite memory. Try to remember as much detail as possible using all your five senses. Think about a person that you admire: whether it be a family member, a friend or an historical figure. Or perhaps it is another writer that inspires you. What qualities do/did they possess that you admire? Perhaps it was their sheer determination to finish a job; keep that in the forefront of your mind as you finish your novel. Music is also inspiring. Listen to music while you write. You could also create a playlist for your novel, something that matches the tone of your novel or your characters.
It does not have to be the obvious that inspires; do whatever works. It will get you to write the next sentence, the next chapter and so on.
