BIW Summer Brouhaha 2016

Last year was the first edition of BIW Summer Brouhaha. Basically we threw most of the usual rules of our regular monthly Book-in-a-Week (BIW) challenges out the window and planned some intense writing all summer long. It went over so well we are doing it again this summer.

When is the Summer Brouhaha

From June 6th to August 1st, every week is a BIW challenge! You enroll once and then each week you can decide if you want to participate by simply posting a goal and then checking in with as many daily totals as you want — obviously more is still better for both yourself and other members. Writers who still only have one week a month to write can pick their week or if they choose they can write every week.

Normally during a BIW challenge there is a room to post your goals and room for each day of the week. You have a post your daily totals by a specific time and you have to post a certain number of times before the room disappears.

How Does it Work

During the Summer Brouhaha, there is a room for each week where you post your goal, your daily totals, and have discussions in the same place. At the end of the week it disappears and the next room for next week opens up. The only real deadline / rule is getting your final total in before the room disappears and not mentioning your goals and daily totals from the previous week in the new week.

Self Moderated

There is no moderator during the Summer Brouhaha — you have to moderate yourselves and one another. That does not mean if there is a problem there is no help. Email Moe and she will step in for technical support or to handle any other issues should they arise.

There will be two enrollment reminders sent out before June, two during June, and one at the end of June. Then nothing more until we return to our scheduled August BIW challenge (August 8th). Should you happen to miss all those you can still email Moe for the key to the room.

Look at your calendar for this summer and start planning which weeks you are going to write like mad!
