Celebrating the Golden Age

Igigi by Yuliya Raquel is celebrating the holiday season with the Golden Age of Couture Collection. The collection includes gowns, cocktail dresses, and separates with French and Russian inspirations.
One of my absolute favorite dresses is the Kandinsky Gown, $325. I love the detail of the 3-tone sequins on the skirt.

Followed by the ruby Nadine Jeweled Gown, $275. I love the crossover skirt and removable jewelled belt.

And finally the Anastasia Gown (it is listed in ruby but looks more like wine to me), $295. I love the texture blocking with the solid, lace, and velvet.

Igigi has many more gowns, cocktail separates, and interesting statement accessories like necklaces, earrings, and clutches. What do you think, are the prices too steep for a holiday dress?

I’ve been less than impressed with the Anna Scholz collection this year (probably because of the hideous kaftans). Normally I love her stuff to death. • Cool and Breezy

I so need cool and breezy today. I feel a little more comfortable just looking at this summery dress from Jessica London. It is listed as a cover-up but I think it is a perfectly acceptable sun dress for an afternoon brunch with friends or family. It is made with soft loop terry which isn’t…

  • Francesca Dress

The Francesca Dress from plus size retailer Igigi had been a popular staple in black and amethyst for some time. It’s one of my favorite dresses because of it’s simple lines that work with a curvy body’s feminine appeal — the draped body, empire waist, flared skirt. Because the shoulders are designed to be worn…

  • Plus Size Panel Dresses

Panel dresses are really hot this year; heck panel everything is pretty hot (there are some leggings out there I want too — and I am not even a legging person). I think the biggest attraction is probably because of the illusion they create in changing the silhouette. I do not see its popularity ending…

  1. Wow, these are beautiful. The only dress I’ve ever bought was my prom dress ten years ago, so I really don’t know what’s reasonable for a dress (can you say ‘sheltered’?).
