Do It Yourself T-shirt Design

We all know America’s got talent (harhar) but not everyone can be stars on reality television shows. You can create your own bit of fame by designing a t-shirt with your own message and/or creative vision. And with simple platforms like CafePress you can have your friends and family wearing them on their back (or hanging them on their walls — posters).
I think more plus size chics need to get their plus size creative game on, to counter all the fat joke tees running a muck in the world. We have a lot of catching up to do. Besides, designing your own tees allows you to get a deeper discount when you buy from your own shop.
When Cafe Press first started offering t-shirts there wasn’t a plus size shirt as far as the eye could see. But slowly as more and more shoppers expressed their desires for a larger selection of sizes Cafe Press provided. The plus size offerings were meager to begin with but today if you visit the thousands of designers offering t-shirts you’ll find a great selection of styles going up to size 5x. One of your designs could be snuggling up to theirs.
If you are not in to the design game you can still find considerable savings, on inspirational designs for pretty much everything from personal hobbies to favorite movies, by keeping an eye on Savings.com for additional CafePress savings. But I hope you’ll take advantage of the DIY design and then let us know about your plus size tee with a positive message by leaving a link for us in the  URL section of  the comment area).

With the belt or without, this fully lined Red Lace top is eye catching. It looks cute with the cuffed shorts shorts Igigi paired with them but I think the black wide legged pants or a black pencil skirt is a must (even grey would be nice). The elastic raglan sleeves offer coverage and add…

I realize some of you really detest the dip tops but I absolutely love them. I have always hated that slight gap between tops and pants if you stretch, bend over or reach up. Dip tops totally do away with that. One of my favorites which also happens to be blue (Slub Jersey Dip Back…

Of all the horror movies I watch, zombie movies are my favorite. I love zombie movies. I even have a book that zombifies Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. “Oh, the horror!” she exclaims as she hold back of hand to forehead. Threadless has had a few cool zombie tees but the new “Zombie’s in Wonderland”…

    Color Watch

I’m patiently waiting for the real spring to begin. It’s warmer but with that comes a muddy back yard. As flattering as the mud stains on my pant legs are, I’m so over that. I’m so over having to give the dog a bowl-bath every time she goes out too. Luckily in another week or…

  1. I have ordered a couple of plus size custom shirts from Cafe Press before, including one that just arrived yesterday. My only complaint is that the shirts do run a little small, and short in the torso. The quality is great though. I ordered the biggest size, 5x, and while the “width” is fine, even a little big, it feels very short, but I am 5’10 and have a long torso.

    1. Actually, now that you mention it, the last ones I ordered did seem short; although my husband’s (normal sizes) seemed to be the right length. I wonder if this was in response to the shirts being too long. LOL I remember there was a time I used to be able to pull them down past my hips which looked funny when worn untucked. That would be a good fit feature to email them about.
