Wardrobe Essentials

Whether you are plus size, tall, petite, or regular there are wardrobe essentials every woman should have in her closet. Here are six I think every woman should have:
The black blazer is no longer only delegated to the office. It now gets double and triple duty by being worn with jeans and boots or a sleeveless dress. You don’t need the boyfriend blazer, any black blazer that looks good on you will do.
The white shirt is the ultimate layering piece that blends discreetly into whatever we are wearing. It can be worn alone, decorated with a scarf, worn under a jacket, or worn as a light jacket over a cami or t-shirt. It can be buttoned, it can be tied or it can be belted. If you don’t like the starkness of a plain white shirt get one with textures like ruffles or pleats.
Knee high boots have become a regular staple to wear over leggings, tights, and jeggings or worn under wide leg jeans, dress pants and long skirts. They come in a variety of styles and colors and yes wide calf but choose a classic pair that will take you through all trends.
The leather jacket has been a versatile piece for decades. Every season a different variation becomes the main “have-it-now” item, this year it has been the bomber and motorcycle jacket. If you are on a budget stick to simple leather styles that transcend the trends and remain flattering through the years. Leather can be dressed up or down by what you wear under it.
The perfect pair of jeans is different for every woman and not every pair of jeans is the perfect jean. Once you find something you love stock up on a few pairs to keep in your closet because you never know how long they will be around.
The little black dress is a necessary staple every woman should have. Sometimes she even needs more than one — a casual version and an evening version. While a black sheath dress is the most versatile almost any black dress you love will do.
With these six basics a woman can create a multitude of looks that will stretch her wardrobe. These are some of my favorites: Black jacket (ASOS Curve), White Oxford Shirt (J. Jill), Black Boots (WideWidths), Leather Coat (OneStopPlus), Jeans (Lane Bryant).
