Oversized Tunic

Love it! The KYOTO TUNIC and capri leggings (full length too) that is. All they need are some flats. The tunic would look equally sweet with skinny black jeans (Calvin Klein, $45), suede boots (Torrid, $68), and cinched at the waist with an obi belt (Etsy, $38). If you love it too you can find it at Making It Big in sizes 3x to 7x for $89. The capri and full length leggings are available in sizes 1x to 8x for $39.

I love the color (teal) and I love the length of the new Everywhere Cardigan from Eliza Parker. This relatively new designer is still making good design decisions. Irregular cardigans are still one of the must have items for this year. The color is so rich, it is a perfect length, and it is made…

  • Owls Have It

There’s a growing fascination of owls in fashion whether it be an owl cocktail ring, or a steampunk necklace, or a knitted cardigan. But most importantly they are in prints. One of my favorites is (of course) is from Threadless. It is printed on light blue (not the same blue shown here) and is available…

  • Skirt-a-licious

Tabeez is a new plus size clothing store to me. In actuality they have been serving customers in sizes 0 to 22 since 2008. I was immediately captivated by their prices and affordable plus size fashions. There isn’t a huge selection of styles but they are worth exploring. You could go skirt crazy there with…

While checking out London plus size clothing designer Anna Scholz’s new collection I fell in love with this sweater which, supposedly, everyone in the Scholz’s office has. Well, I want one! Ok, I want to look like Crystal Renn too (the model in case you did not know). This combination silk and cashmere sweater is…

    Ways To Wear

I was immediately attracted to this Ways To Way outfit in Evans spring look book. I want the whole outfit and I want it now and I want the weather to coincide with me wearing it. I know, asking a lot. But for some reason this outfit so fits my personality right now. Simple, comfortable…

  • The Red Sweater

Blue is my favorite color but I also have a weakness for red — when I do laundry there is usually a load of reds. It is not surprising to me that my heart skipped a beat when it saw this 17 Sundays’s Red Time Out Knit Dress at Madison Plus Select. Ok, I realize…

  1. I’m trying to get my mom to venture out and try new styles. She’s a bit overweight, so she doesn’t think that anything that shows her curves looks good on her- let alone skinny jeans. What do you think I could tell her as a guide to look for when shopping for more form-fit jeans and possibly try to convince her into a pair?

  2. Skinny jeans or form fitting jeans are not for everyone and it is incredibly hard to change their mind about them no matter what size you are. Your best bet is to be encouraging and maybe even go shopping with her — girls day out kind of thing — but keeping it upbeat the whole time. I would also direct her to websites like Madison Plus where she can see curvy women on a regular basis in form fitting clothing and looking awesome. Good luck!
