Oversized Tunic

Love it! The KYOTO TUNIC and capri leggings (full length too) that is. All they need are some flats. The tunic would look equally sweet with skinny black jeans (Calvin Klein, $45), suede boots (Torrid, $68), and cinched at the waist with an obi belt (Etsy, $38). If you love it too you can find it at Making It Big in sizes 3x to 7x for $89. The capri and full length leggings are available in sizes 1x to 8x for $39.

Where I live elbow length sleeves in the winter can seem well a bit ridiculous. But I absolutely love the look of these elbow length sleeves from Fashion Bug. What? Spring? I know, I know, you have not even celebrated happy heart day. But as I am sitting here enjoying the freezing rain and snow, I remembered Babe Hope (Ulla Popken blogger) sent me the Summer lookbook for Ulla Popken. While I am not nearly ready for summer temperatures I did find some favorite…

One of the things I like about the artists at Threadless are the variance of their designs. There are lots of cutesy tees which catch my attention; there are lots of silly ones which I often roll my eyes at; and, there is the darker side like this new design by Budi Satria Kwan called…

  • Breezy Skirts

I really hate shops that have skinny models that don’t even look like they are a size 8. Jessica London is one such online store. They offer plus size clothing in sizes 14 to 34 (that is a huge size range considering what a lot of other stores are offering) but all the models look…

  1. I’m trying to get my mom to venture out and try new styles. She’s a bit overweight, so she doesn’t think that anything that shows her curves looks good on her- let alone skinny jeans. What do you think I could tell her as a guide to look for when shopping for more form-fit jeans and possibly try to convince her into a pair?

  2. Skinny jeans or form fitting jeans are not for everyone and it is incredibly hard to change their mind about them no matter what size you are. Your best bet is to be encouraging and maybe even go shopping with her — girls day out kind of thing — but keeping it upbeat the whole time. I would also direct her to websites like Madison Plus where she can see curvy women on a regular basis in form fitting clothing and looking awesome. Good luck!
