Body Wrap
Honestly, I have mixed emotions about “shape wear”. I think some fabrics just scream for it but mostly I see it as a special occasion type of deal and not a daily wear kind of deal (I know some of you are daily people so please do not take offense). Quite frankly, I am hot stuff and do not need or like to have an extra layer; especially at this time of year. But as I said there are occasions.
If you are anything like me the first thing you probably think of when you think shape wear is Spanx. Spanx has been available at many plus size clothing shops for a few years now. It is a bit pricey but from the way I have heard women talk about them they are like gold. To clarify, for those of you not familiar with shape wear, they are not the girdles of yesteryear but a stretchy fabric that smooths out the soft puffs around underwear and bras as well as cellulite.
An alternative to Spanx is the Body Wrap for Full-Figures which offers bodysuits, camis and bottoms; eleven pieces to choose from. They offer sizes 1x to 3x and range from $42 to $86. All pieces come in black or nude.
The think of all the pieces the two most appealing to me are the Long-Leg Underbust Bodysuit (might as well kill two birds with one stone and deal with the thigh rub) and the Seamless High-Waist Long-Leg Panty.

I like the ones that go down the thighs for the thigh rubbing but as a spanx user, they are so hard to get on and off so I switched to a power panty and use cut off panty hose for thigh rub. It’s an extra step but the open crotch they offer never works for me…very messy to deal with. I will have to check out this brand though, maybe they aren’t as hard to get on/off!
