Shop the Look: Kate Middleton Lace Dress
When Kate Middleton visited Ottawa in the summer, she wore this navy lace dress by Erdem (a British fashion designer) with nude clutch and pumps. The lace overlay dress (or top or skirt) is going to continue to be a hot look as we head into the cooler temperatures. It is sexy but refined and I definitely think Kate wears it well.
I do not normally post “shop the look” posts because I have found most of the ones out there look nothing like the original look. BUT, if you are plus sized and loved Kate’s look, I have good news for you. ASOS Curve almost has an identical look with their Exclusive Midi Dress In Lace in sizes 20 to 26 for £45. The pattern is somewhat different but the rest is definitely the closest I’ve seen yet. Besides, you don’t want to exact look so much as the style and intention behind it.
The neutral pumps and clutch are from Lane Bryant (easy to find neutral pumps, not so easy to find clutch). The Patent Platform Pump which come in wide width are $60 and the Check Clutch Mini Bag On A String by Buxton is $38.

I too love this lace overlay look. It’s refreshing and classy and although Kate’s dress is a pretty conservative cut, the lace overlay makes it “step out”. Beautiful.
Cute dress…but hasn’t ASOS copied enough dresses? LOL
Is anything truly unique anymore? Pretty much everything was inspired by a look or design or a cut that was seen somewhere. I think I like the ASOS design better, you can see more of the underlay.

I love her style. She always looks put together but not too over the top. I wish the media wouldn’t care so much if she wears something twice. Isn’t that a smart thing to do?
