Knit Cowl Neck Tunic Review
Last week I started a series of Ulla Popken product reviews. Today’s review is of the Knit Cowl Neck Tunic. It is available in sizes 12 to 38 for $59 to $64 (sizes 28 and above). I was sent the heather grey but it is also available in black or camel.

When I took it out of the packaging I was surprised how light it was. It was not see through light but weight light. The 100% modal rayon is quite soft and washed up nicely without wrinkling much at all. I gave it a (very) quick once over with the iron before wearing.
Dress It Up for Lunch
My friend Lana and I went for lunch last week. Making it a good time to test out the plus size Knit Cowl Neck Tunic. I wore it with my houndstooth pencil skirt from ASOS, black tights from We Love Colors, and riding boots from JJ Footwear.

The top was super comfortable. I was warm enough for the overcast drizzle kind of day it was. As you can see, I am still getting used to the new haircut and cannot keep my hands off of it. I love the length of the sleeves and shark hem. And best of all it had big pockets. Love the pockets!
Dressing It Down for Comfort
When I got home I dressed down the top with some pink sweatpants and bunny slippers. I was still incredibly comfortable and this top has definitely become one of my new favorites. I just love the style and fit of it. The color is definitely a plus in my book as I am a huge grey fan this season. The cowl neck is a bit cumbersome to get used to at feeding times. It seemed to always be in the way but once I got used to it I was fine.

Pretty much my only disappointment with this top is the change in price for the larger end of the size scale.

I have a love hate relationship with cowl neck shirts. I feel like every plus designer makes them and sometimes there’s too much fabric. This does look great on you!
Btw, freakin love your shorter hair! This is the first time I’m seeing it.
I loved how this top looked in the catalog, but I had a bad experience with the quality of an item I bought from Ulla so I didn’t get it. I might give them another try because of your review. It’s great to see it on a person who actually wears a plus size too! Thanks!
It’s funny because for the longest time I couldn’t find cowlnecks anywhere and now they are everywhere. I bought a sweater one from ASOS a few weeks ago and it’s huge — but I love it.
Thanks — still getting used to the style. 😉
Lori, I think every company has hits and misses. This one was a hit for me. The last item not so much. Don’t give up on them yet!
Hey,
I really loved that you took pictures of yourself wearing it! This really helps. I hope to see more pictures of you wearing different things as I’m now going to continue to come to this website. It’s really daunting b/c some of the plus size models modeling the clothes don’t even look plus size to me sometimes. Other times they have proportions that I don’t have (I don’t have a clearly defined waist because my boobs are in the way). Anyway, seeing on you gives me a more realistic view of how it would look like on me. You are really beautiful and you seem so confident in your pictures. I wish I could be confident like that.
