The Cult Dress

When you saw images of Fluvia Lacerda in the striped sweater dress she wore for the Cult Magazine photo spread did you fall instantly in love with Fluvia the dress? I’m officially calling it the cult dress.

Fluvia defies the old wives’ tale that plus size women shouldn’t wear sweater dresses. This makes me want a whole wardrobe of them! But where, oh where, did it come from? Carmakoma that is where!

Don’t let the S, M, L sizing fool ya, the Monte dress dress is plus size and fits sizes 12 to 24. And Carmakoma ships worldwide. The Monte dress with the long sleeves costs $98 US and the same striped knit also comes in a tank dress ($80):

How would you style this dress? Would you keep it monochromatic with some boots or jazz it up with a splash of colour with some bright sneakers and tights? Honestly, I’d do barefoot on my couch with a good book, it looks so comfie. But in all seriousness, I think my top three would be.

  • Black tights, thick black belt, and knee high black boots.
  • A black jacket, pumps, and cherry red jewelry.
  • A jean jacket and white sneakers.
