Continue Saturdays Writing Prompt

The gist of it is simple. I give you the start of a line/story and you continue on. This week:

“Remember when you could go to the store and by a little brown bag full of 1 cent candy?”

“No, dad. A, I wasn’t around when there was 1 cent candy and B, I never had any money because you blew it all drinking at Danny Boy’s Pub.”

“Don’t be a wise ass.”

“I am my father’s daughter.”

“You’re lucky I can’t get up from this bed.”

“Very.”

This was a typical conversation between my father and I during the last years of his life. Of the four kids he had I was the only one who could tolerate him for more than five minutes. My siblings always told me I was his favorite but I never felt…
