The Summer Espadrille

Year after year they keep coming out with cuter and cuter espadrilles. I bet you thought an espadrille had to have a wedge heel. Not so! They can also be open or flat. What makes an espadrille an espadrille? Traditional espadrilles were actually a flat shoe with a cotton upper and a jute sole. Fashion has made them more exciting. As you can see from my Zappos espadrille picks I tend to lean more to the wedge heel. Ok, I also went a bit crazy with my picks — there were just so many to choose from!
