Skater Dresses

I have been seeing the term “skater dress” around more often lately. It is a style I have never heard of before this summer but I am assuming it has to do with the ice skater competition dresses except in our case a bit longer and larger in size. They tend to be more figure hugging on top with a lovely a-line on the bottom — a perfect style for those of us with a different size on the bottom than the top.

ASOS Curve

The only company that I have seen consistently market this style of plus size dress is ASOS Curve. Every season they have a new batch of skater dress styles — at the moment they have over 59 dresses to choose from that are either listed as or are similar (use their search feature once you are in the dress area). Here are five of my favorite skater dresses:

City Chic Online

Also doing a good job with their skater dress styles is City Chic Online. While their selection is smaller overall they do have over a hundred dresses to choose from. I received a notice today that they have recently restocked some sizes too.
