Plus Size Panel Dresses

Panel dresses are really hot this year; heck panel everything is pretty hot (there are some leggings out there I want too — and I am not even a legging person). I think the biggest attraction is probably because of the illusion they create in changing the silhouette. I do not see its popularity ending any time soon. Regardless I am quite fond of the style and Evans (worldwide shipping) currently has four graphic maxi dresses with panels on black.

Front Panel Dresses

These first two are panel front dresses only. These are are great way to break up the black dress and add a splash of color or design; especially if you have not been fond of patterns in the past and are starting to experiment with them.

Front and Back Panel

My personal preference is to have a matching front and back panel. Single front panels feel incomplete to me. This first one is my favorite pattern of all four.

I like the high necklines on all these dresses (a nice change from all the deep V’s we have been seeing) and almost matching keyholes in front and back of these two. The prints are interesting without being too boring or obnoxious.
What do you think of the panel look? What pattern do you like the best?

    Black and White

A lot of flack is given for recommendations against color but honestly, I love the look of black and white or even just monochromatic black or white. I’m not saying that plus size women should live in black, hell no, I love color! But I think every woman should incorporate black and white into her…

  • The Mystique Collection

With my sy-fy TV/movie background, when I hear the word “mystique” I instantly think of the X-Men and the very blue Rebecca Romijn-Stamos. This has nothing to do with her, or even blue (ok, there is one blue dress but for the most part, no blue). The Mystique Collection is the name of plus size…

Making It Big (MIB) has been working on a new line this year. This week they released three FUN dresses: French Terry Tunic Jumper, $79 I love the color and irregular hem. It would look great with any long sleeve shirt, tights, and Mary Janes or with black jeggings and knee high boots. It can…

  • Sexy Peplum

Can Peplum be sexy? It can if it is the plus size Deep Dive Textured peplum dress from Fashion to Figure. Are you brave enough to wear this black peek-a-boo dress? They have styled it with subdued silver accessories which makes the dress the center point but I really want to add some red to…

  1. All four are pretty, and I am definitely a fan of the panel dress! My favorite is the first one (black and white graphic, one panel).
