No Old Navy for Plus Canadians

I don’t normally post to this blog on the weekend but I just had to share this news. This week over at the Canadian version of this blog I was excited to announce that Old Navy was now delivering to Canadians especially since they have such a smoking plus size section for sizes 1x to 4x. They have been enticing me for weeks with their International Delivery and “coming soon!” to Canada notices.
My excitement was cut short when I surfed over to OldNavy.ca and realized much to my regret, and I’m sure many other Canadian women, that the womens section only serves women up to size 18. Everything else about the site looks pretty much the same as the OldNavy.com site except for the exclusion of the plus sizes. I was both mad and sad at the same time.
I sent off a quick email to OldNavy.ca and asked about this difference and expressed my hope that plus sizes would be coming soon. I finally received a reply today:

Dear Moe,
Thank you for your email. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to contact
us about your desire to see our Women’s Plus clothing added to our new
oldnavy.ca website. Unfortunately, at this time we are not offering the
plus sizes and we are unable to say when we will be offering them in the
future. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause.
Customer comments like yours are essential to our business and feedback
from our valued customers help provide us with a better perspective on
how we might change and expand to meet your needs in the future. Please
be assured that we will share your feedback with our merchandising team.
We appreciate your interest and look forward to shopping with you again
soon.
If we may be of further assistance, please contact us at
custserv@oldnavy.com or by calling 1-800-OLD-NAVY. If you are calling
from outside of the U.S. you may also reach us at 1-614-744-3543.
Sincerely,
Stephanie

For lack of a better word — that sucks beyond belief. It’s bad enough that plus size Canadians can’t buy plus sizes in stores (like our plus size American sisters) but now they can’t shop online either.
If customer comments are essential then it is incredibly important that they hear from plus size clientele. Please email or call to express your dissatisfaction!
UPDATE August 20, 2013: OldNavy.ca is now offering plus sizes up to size 30! Thanks to reader for letting us know.

Love it! The KYOTO TUNIC and capri leggings (full length too) that is. All they need are some flats. 2. Soooo friggin frustrated!!!!!I’m a YOUNG 36 and don’t want ‘mom’ jeans!!!!Found your site because i found the perfect jeans on Old Navy site…….then realized they are for U.S. only…..should be U.S.uck….right? I am 5’10” and 240 lbs hourglass…..try finding jeans in Canada for that frame that are under $150 and cool looking….DOESN’T EXIST!!!Trust me….i’ve fallen asleep online so many times looking!!!FINALLY find the perfect pair ….and Canadian women aren’t worth it so it seems.Sorry to vent here….just feeling your pain!!!Hope you do some posts on where you can find similar jeans and prices…if you find them.Good-Luck!!!

    1. Have you tried Torrid? They have about 10 “tall” styles to choose from for about $60. Swak Designs also has a colored jegging line but they do not give the inseam, but since the models are generally on the tall side and there still looks like there is length… they are are about $40. And then there is Lane Bryant which also has tall jeans, some of them are a bit pricey but during sale times you can get a good deal. All three ship to Canada. Gook luck in your search!
