How To Make Poached Eggs
I make my poached eggs the exact same way I did when I first learned how to make them over 25 years ago. On the stove in a boiling pot of salted water. In fact, I still have what I call my “poached egg” spoon from back then. My husband keeps trying to throw it out because it is broken in spots and just looks sickly overall but it serves it’s purpose of lifting the eggs out of the water and not sogging my toast when I move the eggs there.
There are lots of high tech ways to make poached eggs with special pots for the stove top or special containers for the microwave but I think every person should learn how to make a good poached egg in a pot of boiling water. Besides I think it tastes best that way.
Make a how-to lens on how to make stove-top poached eggs. Use lots of pictures to take people through the steps. So as not to take up a lot of space you can use the Photo Gallery Module which holds at least ten pictures and allows you to put directions under each photo.
Other modules to include:
- Poll: do you like your eggs solid or runny?
- Amazon module of egg cooking utensils (i.e. small pot, slotted spoon, timer).
- A Polaroid module of a plate of food (slice of toast with two poached eggs).
- And the Guestbook asking people how often they eat eggs.
